About Us
Founded by Nate Roberts, The Singing Family exists to help people of all ages sing with skill and joy, for God’s glory. This is a music curriculum for robust singing in homes and churches, a family-oriented project of musical discipleship. Many people long to be musical, to have instrument-playing children, to be a part of a vibrant, singing church, or to cultivate refined musical taste and culture in their home, and they wonder where to start. We believe it starts with singing in the home.
It is in the home that children build their musical foundation: playfully singing rounds and practicing dancing or clapping games, and thus embodying rhythm and pitch from the earliest age. Home is where a couple laughs as they sit on their couch and try again and again to sing in harmony despite never having done it before. Where else but in the home is the newborn rocked to his mother’s lullaby? Where else does the family celebrate the holidays with well-loved songs around the table, or comfort their sick with hymns by the bedside? Home is the foundation, the shelter, the learning place, and the launching pad. Discipleship, musical or otherwise, begins in the home.
Christians are a distinctly singing, rejoicing people. Our vision is to see each member of each family, with scripture deeply embedded onto the tablets of their heart, shine forth this reality as a beacon of beauty to a broken and disordered world. Join us at The Singing Family for resources and guidance for incorporating music into your daily life at home, so families and churches can experience the joy and beauty of singing together.

“O come, let us sing unto the Lord:
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving,
and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.”
Ps. 95:1-3
